The Clinical School Library (CSL) is located on Level 2 of the Johor Clinical School, a two-storey building within the grounds of the Hospital Sultanah Aminah in Johor Bahru.
The CSL Library began operations on 5th February 2007 and to date has a total collection of 3,779 volumes consisting of books, multimedia and serials. There are a total of 44 computers available within the library and these include a 24 pax Open Learning Centre, a 16 pax Student Workstation area on the ground floor, 3 express terminals for online catalogue searching and printing and I visitor terminal. The Clinical School Library has both print and electronic resources that support the learning, teaching and research activities of students and staff at the University’s Clinical School. The print collection comprises 3515 volumes of monographs/books, 20 serials titles and 223 audio visual / multimedia items. The subject areas of the print collection include human anatomy, pathology, internal medicine, surgery, gynecology and obstetrics and pediatrics.
The strength of the CSL collection is compounded and supported by the availability and access to the complete collection of electronic databases at Monash University Library Australia, particularly the electronic databases in the area of medicine and health sciences. These databases are accessed by Monash University staff and students via their Monash Authcate username and password.
The Reference and Multimedia collection includes medical dictionaries, encyclopedias, atlases, handbooks and multimedia materials.
The Library also maintains a small collection of printed medical periodicals, both subscribed and received as gifts.
